Words From the Stellanordica Herald

Greetings from Stellanordica Herald of Oertha!

Anyone interested in any aspect of heraldry, please contact myself or your local herald for more information. Learning of the ways of heraldry, be it field, camp calls, court or book heraldry, has width and depth both, but you can be instantly useful as well. We can always use an extra hand.

Please join the Oerthaheralds Yahoo groups list. It’s a fairly quiet list and won’t fill your inbox. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/oerthaheralds/

Heralds Titles:
The Principality Herald is known as Stellanordica (North Star).
Court heralds in Oertha have the collective title: Sejant Wolf (sitting wolf) he or she who speaks for the Coronets of Oertha.

Local baronial heralds are as follows:
Eskalya: Peregrine Pursuivant
Winter’s Gate: Estoile Pursuivant
Selviergard: In the process of registering their Pursuivant title

Other heralds without specific offices are known as “Heralds at Large”

I would like to encourage everyone to register a device with the College of Arms. You don’t have to have an AA or be a member of the SCA to submit a device for registration. See your local herald or contact Baron Khevron if you need help with ideas, art or forms. Go to http://www.sca.org/heraldry/welcome.html for resources or www.khevron.com. The Oertha Armorial is linked from there also displaying the arms of all Oerthans past and present.

Remember to use the new forms as of May, 2007 and when printing them, be sure the shield is at least 6” tall by 5” wide.
