This page of the West Kingdom web site awards list system is used to explain the various awards that are listed in the West Kingdom Awards List that may be given by The Prince and Princess of The Mists. Leaves of Achievement, and Awards of Arms are listed on the West Kingdom page, rather than here, as they fit into the West Kingdom Order of Precedence. Viscounties are also listed here, but only Viscounties for residents of this Principality or that were granted by the Prince and Princess of this Principality.

Viscounts and Viscountesses
A Viscount or Viscountess is a person who has served as Prince or Princess of a Principality at least once. Viscounty Coronets are in no way defined, but are a matter of personal taste. They normally reflect some element of the Principality Arms, plus personal decoration. Listing of all Viscounts and Viscountesses of and in The Mists

The Corollae Nebulosae
"Little Crowns of the Mists", there are three of these: The Corolla Aulica, given for service (white ribbon); the Corolla Muralis, given for leadership and achievement in war (green ribbon); and the Corolla Vitae (blue ribbon), given to honor those who have given of their talents and skills to benefit the Principality. The token for the Corollae Nebulosae as a whole is a small cast pendant of a coronet within a bordure engrailed, the type of Corolla dependant on the color of the ribbon from which it is hung. Lancers of the Mists
At the discretion of the Sovereign, those who have served as Oberst [Colonel] of the Prince's Lance may be entered into the order of the Lancers of the Mists. The token of this order shall be determined. Listing of all Lancers of the Mists

The Order of the Silver Ivy
This is awarded to those who have served the Principality as Champion of the Mist and Champion's Consort. The tokens for this are a pair of pendants, one fitting inside the other, of an ivy leaf. Listing of all Members of the Order of the Silver Ivy

Iron Lance
This recognition is for War Units in the Principality of the Mists. The token of this recognition is a lance or spear with an iron head. Listing of all Members of the Order of the Iron Lance

The Order of the Golden Branch
Given to honor past Bards of the Mists. The token is a piercework pendant of a "golden" branch (usually brass) hung with bells. Listing of all Members of the Order of the Golden Branch

Stylus Nebulorum
This award is given to scribes for outstanding work in the Principality of the Mists. The token of this award is a garb of wheat in honor of Teresa le Marchant, whose example in both art and service to the Scribes of the Mists is worthy of emulation. The Coronets, at Their pleasure, may recognize any member of the Order as an Exemplar of the Order, for continued contribution to the Scribal Arts, this honor is for the duration of the Reign. The Torse of Honor
This is awarded to those non-belted fighters who have shown great courtesy, chivalry and honor. The token of this award is a torse of blue and white (to represent the principality) and gold to represent honor and chivalry and courtesy. Listing of all Recipients of the Torse of Honor

The Order of the Dames de la Mer
Awarded to those who have served as Princess of the Mists, members shall be "henceforth as they have been hitherto" models of honor and grace to all those in the Principality. The token of the order is a single pearl. Listing of all Members of the Order of the Dames de la Mer

Princess' Order of Grace
Given to individuals displaying great courtesy and chivalry. The token is a medallion, with an engrailed border, a small coronet in the base, and a pearl dependant from the top. Listing of all Members of the Princess' Order of Grace

The Order of the Period Encampment
Awarded at the end of the current reign to an individual or household who has made a great effort to present an encampment with a medieval atmosphere. The token of the order is a pennon in the Principality colors of argent with azure engrailing, with a medieval pavilion in the center. The Order of the Princess' Favor
This is given to those who have been helpful to the Princess during her reign. The token varies from Princess to Princess. This list includes those few Prince's Favors when the Princess has reigned by right of arms. Images of past Princess' Favors. Listing of all Members of the Order of the Princess' Favor

The Order of the Armure Epatant
Awarded to those fighters (melee and missile) whose field "appearance" is exemplary and recognizable as a period form. The token is a golden garter, to be worn as the member sees fit. Listing of all Members of the Order of the Armure Epatant

The Order of the Pegasus

The Order of the Silver Spoon

Saltatoris Nebularum
This is the dance competition held at Principality events, the victor of the competition shall be named Saltator (male) or Saltatrix (female), and be a member of the Ordo Saltatoris Nebularum. There is no token at this time. Listing of all Members of the Ordo Saltatoris Nebularum

Silver Muse
This is awarded to the victor of the Principality Arts Pentathalon, held over the course of a year. One entry in this event must be include a teaching component; and the competitor must make a donation to the Principality "gift basket". The token was created by Diane de Winchester (and Mark von dem Falkensfenn?). Listing of all Members of the Order of the Silver Muse

Equestrian Champion
The token of this honor shall be a silver harness mount and a baldric. Listing of all Past and Current Equestrian Champions

Jaffa
The Order of Jaffa may be awarded to those who simultaneously display the heights of puissance and courtesy on the field of war. The token of the order is a braid of white, blue, and green for the colors of the Principality, dependent from the braid a single link of a chain, for chivalry and a rose, for courtesy. Honor of the Coeur d'Azur
This honor is given to those individuals, wherever situate, who have shown great courage, service or courtesy that has enriched the Principality and inspired the Populace of the Mists. The token will be a blue heart. Listing of all Recipients of the Honor of the Coeur d'Azur

Princess' Champion
The Princess may choose a champion, either by tournament or by personal selection, to defend Her honor and come to Her aid should it be within his/her power. This title lasts until the current reign is over. Currently the champion wears a leather baldric and a bezegue(sp?) -- for wear during combat. Listing of all Past and Current Princess' Champions

Princes' Rapier Champion
This honor lasts the duration of the reign of the Prince who gave it, the person so honored is chosen by the Prince. Listing of all Current and Past Prince's Rapier Champions

Mists Rapier Champion
The person who wins this title does so by winning a rapier tournament. Regalia, term of office, etc., has not been determined. Listing of all Current and Past Rapier Champions of the Mists

Mists Archery Champion
This honor lasts for one year from the time it is granted. The regalia, etc., have not been specified at this time. Listing of all Current and Past Archery Champions of the Mists

Captain General of the Mists' Army
At the Coronet’s pleasure, a warleader may be appointed. The Captain General will be charged with leading the forces of the Mists at wars, and with the maintenance of regalia for this office. Regalia shall consist of a token of the Order of the Corolla Nebulorum cast in bronze, pendant from a chain of steel. At the Sovereign’s will, the Captain General may take the field with the army without the Sovereign’s presence. If the Captain General is not a holder of the Corolla Muralis, this office will include that award. The duration of this recognition is from the date of appointment until the end of the reign in which it was granted.

The purpose of this office is to give the Principality armies a cohesive command structure in case, for some reason, the Prince can't take the field, or is not a skilled general and wishes to have someone to learn from. Listing of all Current and Past Captain Generals

The Princess' Guard
This is an honor, not an award, and is modeled on the Queen's Guard. The title was changed to Princess' Guard in the reign of Brion and Shaheena. All past members of the "Princess' Escort" have been changed to "Princess' Guard". This honor lasts from the time a member is admitted to the Guard, until the end of the reign. Prince's Lance
The Prince's Lance is the personal armed guard of the Sovereign when He (or She) is in battle. The unit shall consist of armored combatants appointed by the Sovereign. The members of this guard shall wear on their helms torses of green, blue, red. There will be one officer of the Lance, who shall be titled the Oberst [Colonel], chosen by the Sovereign -- his/her torse will be green, blue, red and gold. This honor lasts from the time a person is named to the Lance until the end of the reign. Listing of all Past and Current Members of the Prince's Lance

Banner Bearer (Mists)
The Banner Bearer is charged with the possession and maintenance of regalia, and will fight at the Sovereign's side when both are upon the field of battle. As the Banner Bearer follows the Sovereign, so does his position. The Sovereign shall bestow, in ceremony, the Bearer with His charge at Investiture and reclaim it at the Investiture of His Heirs. This honor lasts for the duration of the reign of the current Prince and Princess. Listing of all Current and Past Banner Bearers of the Mists

Cheval Argent
The Cheval Argent is given to those who foster and support the equestrian arts in the Principality. Listing of all Members of the Order of Cheval Argent

Stylus Nebulorum Exemplar
A member of the Order of the Stylus Nebulorum may be made an Exemplar for the duration of the reign of the current Prince and Princess, if They so wish. This honor lasts until the end of the reign, as opposed to membership in the Order of the Stylus Nebulorum, which is an award. Listing of all Current and Past Stylus Nebulorum Exemplars

Court of the Mists
This honor lasts during the length of the reign -- it is a means of recognizing those who serve Their Highnesses as members of Their Court. There may be a Head of Court listed, as well as a Peer Advisor as well. Tokens have not been determined. Listing of all Members of the Court of the Mists
