Awards in the Principality of Lochac

The lists of holders of awards was last updated: June 28, AS LII (2017).

This page of the West Kingdom web site awards list system is used to explain the various awards that are listed in the West Kingdom Awards List that may be given by The Prince and Princess of Lochac. Leaves of Achievement, and Awards of Arms are listed on the West Kingdom page, rather than here, as they fit into the West Kingdom Order of Precedence. Viscounties are also listed here, but only Viscounties for residents of this Principality or that were granted by the Prince and Princess of this Principality.

Descriptions of awards and tokens comes from a variety of sources, including but not limited to: The Laws of the Principality of Lochac, the West Kingdom Ceremony Book, an article in the West Kingdom Herald's Handbook on Awards, Baronial websites, or heralds, etc.

There are sometimes discrepencies for awards between Lochac and the central Kingdom databases, specifically listing who gave a recognition. This is due to misunderstandings on the parts of the heralds in Lochac when reporting (when awards were reported to the West) as to who actually was granting the recognition. In many cases the Viceroy and Vicereine or Prince and Princess could not give specific awards by law, but as the King and Queen were not in attendance, They were asked to grant the awards in the Name of the current King and Queen. The misunderstanding occurs as in the Lochac (Canon Lore) database sometimes the King and Queen were not listed, instead the local royalty were. A bit confusing a times, but there you have it.

If the royalty are shown with (Vic.) after their names, they were the Viceroy and/or Vicereine at the time (while Lochac was a Crown Principality).

The data included here for Lochac is up to the end of the reign of the last Prince and Princess of Lochac, July 2, 2002 (A.S. XXXVII). After that Lochac became their own Kingdom.
